Although I have not been to Vail, CO, snowboarding in a few winters, there used to be a guy there who did a lot of Nordic/telemark skiing up on the big mountain while wearing a kilt. Don't remember seeing a sporran but he did carry a backpack. Guy was pretty good. Although I was not a kiltie back then I do remember thinking that that kilt looked pretty heavyweight, probably ex-military, and did not fly up at any speed I saw, so I would not be surprised if it had one of those elastic bands attachec tothe inside of the pleats to keep them from flying in the breeze.

He looked extremely elegant, between his attractive attire and excellent skill and the telemark kiing style, it all worked very well. I will have to search my old digital photo files to see if I ever got a picture of the guy. Will post if I find one or two.
