    Kilts in new Sherlock Holmes

I just got home from seeing a screening of the new Sherlock Holmes, A Game of Shadows. There are kilted Pipers in two scenes, they are in full dress and Holmes uses the two Pipers to awaken a very hung over Dr. Watson after his Stag party. A good movie, worth seeing. We lucked out, Universal gave my Sherlockian group a free premier showing tonight.

Very fun! I'm looking forward to seeing it this weekend. I'm hoping to wear my bustle gown and watch it with some of my costuming friends... if it doesn't rain that day, anyway. I'm not in the mood to get caught in the rain wearing that outfit for various reasons.

Looking forward to seeing it as well.

I'm jealous! It doesn't open in Boston until 12.16 - very much looking forward to seeing the movie.

That's when it opens here too. Hmm. . .Going with my lass to the annual Christmas Revels in Oakland on Saturday (different theme every year, this time it's centered around Arthur's court at Camelot). Maybe we can take in the movie on Sunday -- I thoroughly enjoyed the first one.

Off-topic, but I had to ask to which Sherlockian group you belong to?

Being a life long Sherlockian (with my last name would you expect any less? ) I use to belong to a local (now defunct) group myself.

    I'm a bit of a fan myself.

I stayed up watching a recording of Hound of the Baskervilles into the small hours of this morning, and I have various editions of the Casebooks and novels, even a facsimile of the originals from The Strand magazine - I was wondering what the new film was like.

I might find the time to go to the cinema to see it, if all goes to plan.

Being Military and moving around the world every 2 to 3 years I belong to a lot of them, the big one is BSI ( The Baker Street Irregulars), while living here in Maryland I am a member and attend WTB (Watson's Tin Box) and some SNB ( Six Napoleons of Baltimore ) events.

Action packed, fast paced, funny, witty. A bit of a free take on the writings, but well done. To me, Mycroft and Moriarity stole the movie, my favorite scene as a Sherlockian is the "Chess match" . This movie is worth your time.
