KT's Keyboard Player

My daughter and I are sitting here watching a show on PBS called "Live From The Artists' Den"...the act is KT Tunstall.

As usual we're playing "name that guitar" since they seem to be going through an endless supply of them. We suddenly noticed that the keyboard player in the backgound appears at first glance to not be wearing pants. My daughter looks at me and says,"Is that guy not wearing pants?", and I thought for a second and looked more closely..."No," I sez, "he's most likely a Scot and if you look more closelyit looks like he's wearing a kilt."

Judging by the elevation of the stage and the way that he's sitting, though, he might consider a heavier sporran.

Ah! The fella just stood up to play the trumpet (talented guy, eh?) and it looks like a black Utilikilt.

KT is Scottish...so it'd make sense her backing band is too. Incidently....did she do "Black horse and cherry tree?" I love that song...especially when she does it all by herself with just a guitar and a sampler/looper.

Y'know, I'm no a big fan of hers and really just heard the tunes for the first time last night. There is a link:

http://www.theartistsden.com/episodes/tunstall.shtml

...and I was hoping that, as things seem to be going these days, they'd have an option for you to watch the whole thing on your computer but I guess not. I see that they have a "shameless commerce" page where you can purchase stuff but, knowing public broadcasting, I'm sure that the show will be re-run ad infinitum so keep an eye out. Good stuff, though...always interesting to see live performances on the tv...you learn a lot about how the tunes are constructed.
