    Lawson print ad - 2000 (part 1 of 3)

I searched all through the Kilts in the Media section and did not find these pics. These images are from a Lawson's print ad run during the year 2000, and came to me directly from the advertising agency almost three years ago. I hope you enjoy them.

This forum has limits on the amount of HTML in each post, so this will be part one of three, with seven images overall. Thumbnails are showing and the link beneath takes you to the full-size image.

    Thumbs up

Thankd for posting these - i had seen mention of them in the kilted comics thread & spent more than a few hours searching for them on here - well i spent a couple of minutes looking for them and then got disatracted by one of the many other threads of interest - damned ADD.

Very nice imagery & ideas. why cant we get advertising like this over in the US???
    ITS A KILT, G** D*** IT!

Not ADD, as it's all too easy to get distracted with the plethora of interesting reading here.

I hadn't seen all of these before, so thanks for posting them. As I've said before, if Lawson's would run their ads in the US, I'm sure they'd be pleased with the response.

I might look like I'm doing nothing, but at the cellular level I'm really quite busy.

    Thumbs down Uh, ok.........

    Well,

As great as it is that these adds feature kilts - I must say that my interest in a brand of scotch is not going to be swayed by a shirtless lad in various 'JC Penny Catalog' poses....

Sorry, I have to say nay.....

I doubt I'd ever buy the Scotch just because a well-muscled shirtless guy is in it. I care for quality not advertising.

But there are two of those that disturb me.

    First,
I'm not sure how throwing either a woman or a female mannequin end of end is supposed to make me want to drink scotch. Although if the young female were switched with a mother-in-law, and there was a cliff nearby I'd bet plenty of men would be willing to try a toss. ;)

    Second,
Just what exactly is he planning on doing to that cow once he blindfolds it with the kilt?!?!?!
