Look for my kilt (and me) on TV! (+)

All last week, TBS was hosting a comedy festival in Chicago. As part of that, they were filming all weekend at Zanies, an old-school comedy club in Old Town. We bought tickets for the early Saturday show a few weeks back.

Saturday was also the Highland Games out in Oak Brook, as well as the public debut of my first kilt. We had a good time at the Highland Games, and by the time we got home I didn't feel like changing into anything different for the evening, so went out kilted.

We wound up getting great seats in the second row back, right on the aisle. Every time one of the comedians would go to or leave the stage, a guy with a Steadicam would follow him there and back, walking right past my wife and I. There was also a bit in the middle of the show with a "heckler" (plant) who is later escorted out of the venue, right past us. Between these and the random crowd shots, I should get some air time.

So, when TBS begins to air a show called "The Very Funny Show", look for a guy wearing a MacLeod hunting kilt, sitting next to a pretty woman in a black, purple, and white dress. That's me (in the kilt, not the pretty woman in the dress; that's my wife). If I can find out ahead of time when "my" episodes will air I'll let y'all know. It's entirely possible that they'll cut up our shows and mix them in with other tapings, so I'll have to keep an eye out for specific comedians' names.

The last comic, as he came down from the stage, pointed at my kilt and nodded his approval. After the taping was finished, Tim Meadows, who was hosting, came down and asked a bit about what we had been doing that day, and in the end declared my kilt, "cool."

Maybe this is my big break!
