    Newbie/ Kilt making

    Hi all,
I was at the Albuquerque Celtic festival (which I was glad to find since recently moving from So. Cal.) and was talking to a gentleman who had made his own kilt using what he said were instructions that he got from xmarksthescot. I liked this kilt because it was made of a light weight canvas or chino material. Can anyone tell me where I might find these instructions. I would like to make a few of these for everyday wear around town and for working around the yard. I think they would be much cooler than shorts. I also would like to know, even though it is not strictly kilt related, where I could find out more about celtic fairs that are not to far from ABQ. This looks like a great site. I am sure I will get a lot of good info and advice.
    Thanks
    AA

I think what you are looking for is what is known as an "xkilt" if you do a search for that or for "AlanH" you should be able to find what it is you are looking for.
