    Penn & Teller

I was watching the episode about Lawns, and there was a segment where they claim the idea came from Scotland. They wore Black Watch, wait, I believe they wore Black Watch tartan.

I have not posted a link, they are easy enough to find. The show is replete with foul language and nudity. I am not a prude, but someone will be insulted.

They curse Scotland for inventing the concept of the lawn. Then they praise them for the comfort of the Kilt.
I reserve the right to be wrong.

Pity the source. The only way those two idiots seem to be able to make a point is by making it as obscene and foul-mouthed as possible. The content of their message is lost in the delivery. Put it this way, if I weren't already a kilt wearer and I saw them promoting kilts, I would likely never go near one after that ever.

I don't watch Penn and Teller, so I haven't seen that episode. But I have to agree with that sentiment. Watching hordes of people become slaves to their small patches of turf - usually for no other reason than "keeping up with the Joneses" - is depressing. The culture of intolerance that has grown up around proper lawn care is also a bit disturbing.

In the very first episode Penn explains why the overdose of foul language is served up to the viewing masses. It boiled down to the angles of possible legal action by the people they so often go after in their show. I do find it a little over the top, but also really enjoy some of the points the bring up on the show.

I really enjoy the show and I find their perspective refreshing. I'm not one who is bothered by foul language and nudity though!

Completely off topic, but I just looked at the list of emoticons and some of them are quite fantastic!! This one made me laugh the hardest!

That's why I miss the rock lawns of Phoenix...I threaten to "convert" my lawn here in Southwest "Misery" to one every now & then, complete with barrel cacti and Yucca plants!

I'm getting ready to rip out all of my desert landscaping from my AZ backyard and replace it with sod and flowerbeds...

Cajunscot, where do you want me to send the rock and barrels?
