I think I should also point out that during NY Tartan Week there are many more traditional venues and events. But there are many that push the envelope, so to speak, in how they approach Scottish traditions, music and fashion etc. Personally I think this is a good thing and makes for a healthy appreciation of all things Scottish. One favorite of mine is a photo taken during the "Dressed to Kilt" charity fashion show which is held each year- a BIG favorite in NY. The fact that she is wearing Buchanan tartan just made it even more appealing to me, even if the flashes look a little silly!
