    Rescue Me TV Series

I've just started watching the TV series Rescue Me with Denis Leary. I have seasons 1-3 on DVD now and I'm almost done with the first season.

Anyways I believe it's in the 8th episode one of the firefighters dies and they have the bagpipers playing his funeral. I tried to get a close look at their tartan but I couldn't make it out. Is there a standard tartan that a New York FireFighter Bagpiper would wear? I know there was FireFighter Tartan original created not too long ago, but the show aired back in 2003 I believe, and it looks like it had a lot of blue and white in it.

If you haven't checked this show out, it's absolutely great.

Since i'm only in the middle of Season 1, unfortunately i'm sure there will probably be more firefighters dying in the next couple seaons which means more bagpipes, which means more kilts.

My hats off to any firefighters on this list and around the world. And Thank You for everything you do and the sacrifices you make.

I would imagine they wear the New York Tartan.

Am caught up on all three seasons and that was the only Kilted moment to date. It pissed me off because my wife always jokes that the only time you see kilts on TV is the bagpiper at a funeral!

Love the show though, Leary is awsome in the character of Tommy.

As his corse to the rampart we hurried,
Not a soldier discharged his farewell shot,
O'er the grave where our hero we buried."

"Rescue Me" is one of the best written shows I've seen in a long time. On par w/ M*A*S*H and NYPD Blue.

I suggested that Rocky get his Firefighter tartan on there, like he was able to w/ Reno911. THAT would be cool!!!

    *notice I didn't say "hot"...to avoid a fire pun*
