There's no rehearsal - this is it.

One wonders why they just don't take the opportunity to support the greater use of the Glasgow tartan, a venerable old sett from WOB...

Seriously, does the world really need one more "special event" tartan which will be immediately orphaned and collect dust in the database?

I would really like to think that that was the answer. If so what are they going to do next year for the next generation of school kids?

Many schools in the UK use what is called an integrated curriculum. So in Resistive Materials (was woodwork or metalwork), they make the article; in English they write about the manufacturing process; in Maths they work out costings, materials and time; in History they research the development of the item and in Social Studies they work out how the item will affect their lives. Somewhere along the way is Design and Technology where they work out why the article is made the way it is and how it could be improved.

I can see how designing a tartan could fulfil all those requirements.

    But...

Most schools do not allow for the wearing of the kilt. In fact many no longer allow girls to wear skirts!

It is almost like saying - "Here, take this knowledge, but don't use it".

    Regards

    Chas

    Thanks for that Chas.
I can now see and understand how many of the youth of today have a very limited general knowledge.
