    Vintage Willard Scott

I was thinking about posting this is in the vintage thread, but on second thought, I don't think it's all that vintage. Willard is looking mighty young, though.

From a site "dedicated to The Joy Boys, Ed Walker and Willard Scott, who entertained Washington DC listeners on WRC radio from 1955 to 1972."

Willard Scott, dressed in a kilt, hugs the
somewhat shorter Betty Groebli. Betty hosted
    a talk show on WRC.
    Regards,
    Rex.

Great photo Rex, you really are coming up with some great photos.

Back in the 60's, he once did the weather forecast for NBC's DC affiliate with the weather map painted on the side of a cow.

One New Year's Eve, he wrote "Happy New Year" on his dome and then lightly glued his hairpiece on. At the end of his weathercast, he quickly snapped his head forward so his toupee flipped down to show his holiday wishes.

TV doesn't really seem to have room for guys like Willard anymore, which is sad.
Why, a child of five could understand this. Quick -- someone fetch me a child of five!
