    Whose Wedding Is It Anyway?

My mom called me in to see this episode of an Asian-American bride and Scottish-American groom. They're having an Asian/Scottish wedding. No problems there, but when they met with the wedding planner, the groom (last name Walker) put a scrap of Black Stewart on the table saying "This is my family's plaid, Gordon"

As a Gordon, I'm shocked and flabbergasted. Also, Walker is a clan unto itself and has IT'S OWN TARTAN! I mean, he may be connected to Clan Gordon somehow, but from where I'm sitting it's seems unlikely...Walker isn't usually listed as a sept.

Later in the show, the couple uses Dress Gordon (phew...) and Black Stewart (argh!) for sashes and kilts. At least the men looked good in the kilts. No ghillie brogues, and all the kilts, sporrans, and jackets seemed to be the correct size/height.

Who knows? Maybe it's his mum's clan and he prefers the tartan? I was told by a jewish lady that she was a Gordon. I knew that jews could wear the Gordon tartan, and thought that's what she meant, but no, I later discovered that she actually does have close relatives whose last name is Gordon. Good job I didn't say anything. It's easy to jump to conclusions.

But did you ask if they were Scottish or Jewish? Gordon is also a Jewish surname.

    Some are both simultaneously.

Was this the same wedding show that one of our X-Markers, an outfitter, was involved in a few months ago? I don't remember who it was.

    Regards,
    Rex.

So, did the groom state his mother's ancestry? My family name is Walker but that has nothing to do with any clan as it's an Americanized revision of the German name Völker .

Since it's a tv show and the producer director didn't like or get the right tartan. Hey it's show biz, they run fast and loose with the truth.
