Amazing Grace on my new flute

My best man at my wedding is a native American flute maker and player. As a wedding gift he brought us a new flute.

The body of the flute is made of black laurel, with the four directions marked with turquoise. The roadrunner fetish is made of iron wood.

Below is a link to a short clip of amazing grace played on the flute. It's about 1mb and you'll have to download it to listen to it.

Beautiful workmanship and the music is haunting - At the end of the piece I was waiting for the orchestra to kick in!

    I like that flute.

I'm not a musician by any means (I don't have the discipline or the drive to excel at playing anything). However, I can pick out the basic melody of Amazing Grace on about a half-dozen different instruments.

The is beautiful! And wooden flutes have such a tone - haunting is a good word for it.

Your friend is quite an artist!

I have a cherry wood flute. Doesn't quite have the same sound as yours but all wood flutes have a bit of a haunting quality to them.

I like my metal flutes, but when it comes to warmth, nothing touches a wood flute.
    Simple and crude, but effective.
