Miscellaneous Forum - This is where our members can discuss those things in their lives not necessarily related to the Kilt. (Please keep in mind when posting here that we are a community of friends. The idea is to discuss those things which bring us together, not those that separate or divide us.)

Actually, it appears to be an issue of honesty...

Personal experience has taught me that claims of arms, military decorations, etc. are best viewed with a healthy dose of skepticism, I apologize if that seems rude. Surely the easiest way to silence doubters (such as myself) is to produce your letters patent or matriculation from Lord Lyon.

Cordially,

I find all this very facinating. I do hope this can be cleared up pretty quickly. I also await the lay-down of the cards. I see you are from the "Show Me" state, so, ......

Hear hear!

I figured out early on to not mention ones arms or orders on here.

Learn from Tartanraven and get back to disscussing kilts and tartan.

Well, Zardoz, there is nothing wrong with mentioning these things if one is telling the whole story, don't you think?

I'll agree with that.

But like I said, this sort of discourse could have been avoided if he'd just not brought it up. I knew when he mentioned arms and titles, legit or not, there would be a discussion!

There are days when I am happy to be of good peasant stock - today is one of those days.

May you all have a pleasant Friday.

I am reminded of Robert Burns who, when asked about his ancestry replied:

My ancient but ignoble blood
Has flowed through scoundrels since the Flood.
