    Do you Skype?

For about two years now I have had Skype on my computer at the shop. If you are not familiar Skype it is a small free program that allows you to make free phone calls over the internet.
Free calls anywhere in the world to anyone else with skype. If you have a web cam you can also see who you are calling.

I have lately been using Skype to give customers an inside, behind the scenes look at FK. I have also found it handy when a customer calls with a question about my measuring system. I just point my web cam and walk them through the entire process just as I would do it here in the shop.
I've even had the chance to have some customers call me and watch as I sew their kilt. Swear words and all.

You will see in my signature block my Skype address. You will find the address for Hamish in his signature block too.

If you have never tried Skype I would encourage everyone to download this free program. It has sure helped me keep in touch with my X Marks friends and customers.

Go to www.skype.com and check it out. It's a lot more fun than facebook.

    Then give me a call.

I've often been intrigued by it...

    May have to do that...

I'm not sure I have the right duhicky for that...
I guess you at least need a microphone on your computer. That wouldn't be too hard to come up with...
Sounds interesting, I'll look into that.

I have thought about it, but then the computer would need an audio card, speaker, and microphone, plus possibly a web cam. All of these need space, which in this closet are currently at a premium.

I use skype when gaming on line. It makes it easier to concentrate on what my character is doing and not what I need to tell another guild or team mate.

Its a cool service, pretty reliable with few bugs.
