Ebay Find Tweed Argyll Jacket

Was just browsing the tinternet when I espied the following item. Its of absolutely no use to me as I would need one and a half of these sewn together but thought there may be one of the rabble who might be interested.

There seem to be a lot of these showing up on ebay as of late. Sadly, it seems like they have all been in about the same size. Keep checking hoping to find something in a 44L, but so far what I have seen has quickly gotten bid out of my current price range.

I was rather taken with this Badger fur dress sporran. If only it wasnt Xmas coming up and the OHs birthday I think I might have a punt at it.

I would be cautious about buying a fur sporran from this vendor. I bought a nice full mask fox dress sporran with cantle from him less than two years ago, kept it in the original box and in my cedar closet with the rest of my kilt gear, and discovered belatedly this past spring that it was the source of a massive moth infestation requiring discarding of the moth-eaten and destroyed sporran, and massive anti-moth campaign to clear my clothes and closet of the nasty buggers. If I were to buy another fur sporran from this vendor I would be sure to seal it in a big garbage bag and set off at least one bug bomb in with it, then keep it in a cedar laden container for at least two years separated from the rest of the fur and wool collection until I was sure that it was safe.

Just my tuppence and experience.

thank you so much for the heads up. Was seriously considering this sporran until I read your thread on your misfortune. Guess I will just look at the listing and think "thats a nice sporran" and keep my finger well away from the trigger.

It also really reinforces the benefit of belonging to this forum, insofar that friends can steer you away from potential disasters.
