Feb 1st - Canada day
Today's a special day for me, 33 years ago today I arrived in Canada. I recall on the plane flight over I was looking so forward to play in mounds of fluffy white snow (we didn't see much snow in southern England). So disapointed was I that the only snow I saw was the black stuff on the side of the roads . I always take the time to be thankful of my new home. So the first Happy Canada day to me for this year.

Congratulations Grant!
But I am reminded of that great George Best quote about his decision to play for the Vancouver Whitecaps... When asked why he said...
"Because I saw an advert on the side of a London bus inviting me to Drink Canada Dry."

I don't think so, I've never been asked to come back, not even for a visit.

Happy Canada Day, Grant.
I will now present you with the one chicken salute:
Bring out the chicken!
*Bwak-bwak-bwak*
Present chicken!
*BWAK!*
Ready!
*Cluck*
Aim!
*CLUCK*
Fire!
*SPROOOIING!!*
Thank you, Corporal. You may retrieve your chicken.
I am easily moved for sympathy for dogs, far more so than for humans, because dogs do not understand. There is no way to explain that you will return, that the vet will make it all better, that they cannot go shooting today because that is not what today is about. They cannot work out that their misery is finite and will some time end, and so their misery is magnified.
