Great Britain Touring Info ?'s

I'm working to pull together a list of places that we'd like to see in England, Scotland and Ireland next year. I've found that Undiscovered Scotland is a wonderful resource. Is there a similar resource available for England or Ireland?

Also I'm looking for a resource better than mapquest for maps & directions. Microsoft has something called Autoroute and I suspect it's very much like Streets and Trips is for North America. It's an excellent program but I'd rather have something for MAC OS X. The OS X software I have for mapping is North America only. Any ideas?

Have you looked at the Google Earth application for Mac OS X?

hmm....I'm not sure, but I am fairly certain Ferintosh should be fairly close to the top of that list for Scotland.

I'd heard of Google Earth but never investigated it. VERY kewl. Still looking for software though. Just so I can add it to one of the iBooks and take with us. Google Earth requires a connection and a LOT of bandwidth.

I should have mentioned that I started with your website. I now have enough "wanna see's" in your neck of the woods to spend the entire two weeks there. It's also the site that got me to undiscoveredscotland.com.

We're talking June 2007 here. How far ahead do you get booked up?

google Maps is far less "expensive" bandwidth-wise than google earth, and does not require a download of any kind.

aye- undiscoveredscotland.com is wan o my favs tae....

as fur bookings.... maist o May is booked (fur this year) an some o' June & July... there are a few weekends ai could steer ya away fraim.... annual events that arr books over a year ahead....

if ya book 6-7 months ahead (anywhere in Scotland) ya shuidnae hae trouble... unless it is wan o those "annual events"... (ie Scottish Rally, Blue Bonnets, Guid Nychburris...)

obviously- book sooner than later....

KKT, I like that one too; it also seems to be what powers Frappr. However it still requires a net connection. I'm looking for something that's self contained that can be used on a laptop on the fly while traveling. Something like Streets and Trips or Autoroute but for the MAC.
