Harris Tweed find on Ebay.
So, this one's definately "off topic" for the most part. Seeing as it can't (or shouldn't anyway) be worn with a kilt. I found this great Harris Tweed overcoat on Ebay a couple of days ago. I've been following it... lurking.
Anyway, won it tonight for $10.51!!
Yay me!

Well done! A tweed overcoat is one of the nicest garments you can own. I still have my grandfather's tweed Crombie.

Looks a nice coat. I got a similar Harris Tweed coat on eBay last year. I thought mine was a bargain at $49.99! I got it from a "new old" eBay store and when it arrived it was an unworn 1950s coat still with the labels on. The ticket price then (still on the sleeve) was $50, which was very wierd considering my winning bid.
Anyway, I wore it all last winter and it is the best coat I have ever had. So enjoy yours as the cold comes. You clearly got a great bargain.

I've always wanted one. And, the cold showed up for a brief stent this last week. So, I thought I might look into it again. Sure enough, I found that one on Ebay and it worked out for a heck of a price.

Well won! I've also got my Grandfathers tweed overcoat. It was made by John Cameron a Taylor in London ca. 1934. Still looks new. I read your post last night and went to the winter closet to see it. Put it on over a kilt and I looked like a flasher. O'Neille

I have to agree. Doesn't go with the kilt too well. Still a great coat.

HAHAHAHAHAHA!
I must agree. That was my initial thought when looking into them.
It came in today with my O'Neille kilt (see my seperate thread on that.) This coat is absolutely AMAZING! I'm in utter shock that I won this coat for ten smackers! I've never caught a deal NEAR this good in my years on Ebay.
