Wow, if we'd been a week later leaving Heathrow Airport we would have really been stuck. I notice that there was a big strike at the airport, thousands of people couldn't make their flights, total chaos.

Air travel is such a hazardous thing to do these days, I can only thank God that we got home without too much trouble.

So true. First there's the security to deal with on a regular basis. Then, you have strikes, bad weather, mechanical problems, and who knows what else. Then on top of all that, they squeeze you in like sardines and feed you peanuts or crackers (if you're lucky).
