A Home for Willie
As an aside for a thread on another forum about cartoon characters in kilts.
Willie the Groundskeepr from the Simpsons, two lines of thought are is he from Glassgow or Aberedeen? Forgive my spelling - I have a problem with keyboard, I can't hit the right keys.
So Where is he from?

Good question. Check out the Groundskeeper Willie Wiki page. You'll find that there are multiple answers to your question.

I think he's really from Shelbyville but uses the accent to hide it.

Re: A Home for Willie
I heard he was relocated as part of the witness protection program (explains the beard and bad dye job)... doesn't sound glaswegian (father was) or aberdonian (lived there 20 years) to me...

Re: A Home for Willie
In the mad world of Bart Simpson, it is probably appropriate that Willie was a Scot by an accident of the recording studio, and has had so many histories and names that none of them stick – not to mention the number of times he has been killed in fantasy episodes.
Which is sad when one wants to latch onto a Scottish character, but that is TV cartooning for you.
