It's time for me to leave...

    To my new friends,
I thank you all very much for giving me some pleasant distractions, humor, a ton of newly acquired knowledge, and, most importantly, a new-found love of kilts and all things Scottish! This forum (in part) has made my last 4 or 5 months in Afghanistan bearable...and now it is time for me to head home to my family after 15 long months of separation.

It's a big time in our household...wife and kids have the movers coming this week for a household move to my current base of assignment (...my wife was in school and unable to move when I received my last orders) and I'm leaving my deployed location in a couple of days to start the 8-day movement home (...lots of layovers...hurry up, and wait). If all goes as currently planned, I should be kissing my wife and kids on the afternoon of Christmas Eve!!!

In the interim, I wish you all Merry Christmas, Happy New Year's, and Happy Holidays...and I can't wait to post pics of me in that new kilt that's waiting for me at home!

    Until then....

Thank you for your service and dedication and sacrifice. May God watch over your safety in your journey home, and may that journey be made on the wings of Mercury. God bless.

And can't wait for the kilt pics.

At first I thought you were quitting XMTS, then I read on down and saw that it's good news. Congrats to you, and thank you for your service. I hope this Christmas is all you hope for.
