Kilted at the Neighborhood Holiday Party

I just got back from a neighborhood holiday party that my next door neighbor throws every year. It has lots of people from the neighborhood and also some of her husband's coworkers.

I wore my ancient MacKay with Lovat Blue daywear jacket. All the neighbors are so used to seeing me kilted that no one even batted an eyebrow. The only comments I got from neighbors were from those who hadn't seen either the kilt or the jacket before and wanted to compliment me on them.

Now Don's defense contractor coworkers asked lots of questions but all very respectable.

But the best part was when one of the other gents saw me and then looked at his wife and said, "I told you I should have worn my kilt!" Apparently he had done some graduate work in St. Andrews and that's where he met his American wife. They love all things Scottish and he has a few kilts. We spent almost an hour talking about kilts, pipes, scottish history, you name it. He was really upset that he hadn't worn his kilt tonight.

And that is why I wear my kilt when ever I can.

I bet he starts wearing it a lot more often now, thanks to you. :-)

I might look like I'm doing nothing, but at the cellular level I'm really quite busy.
