"The males do this kind of Highland fling in front of the females."

For some reason this has me thinking of spiders wearing kilts.

I'm just envisioning this bioluminescense from under the kilt... kind of like one of those neon light effects kits for a car...

Well kilts would certainly save time sewing up all those legs on spider pants.
.. the kilt had concealed a blaster strapped to one thigh and a knife to the other. He was aware of the present gentle customs against personal weapons, but he felt naked without them. Such customs were nonsense anyhow, foolishment from old women - there was no such thing as "dangerous weapons," only dangerous people.

Jumping spiders are just about the coolest critters on Earth. They can jump across a ceiling. Ponder that for a moment. Phiddapus audax, a common North American species, is black and white with metallic emerald green chelicerae (fangs), and is bold enough to attack your finger despite being only about 1/3" long.

I laughed to hard I threw my back out. Still giggling, despite the disaproving stares from my wife.

At least they have an abundance of thread.

Comes in REAL handy when they're attaching all the little spider rhinestones and sequins, too!

    Say what?

    How do they jump up?

You know, I always sort of pictured spiders doing more of a Cossack Mamushka kicking all of this little legs out or some of Russian kick dancing.

I'd like to see a spider doing a highland fling.
