I was walking through those fires this summer, in Idaho and Montana. At times I couldn't see more than a half mile because of the smoke, and climbing mountains was difficult because I was breathing smoke. I went through the Salmon fire, and the Rat Creek, perhaps more because I wasn't really paying attention to the names.

Those pilots get a pat on the back from me. Hell, anyone going into a fire scene gets a pat on the back and a hearty Attaboy. Thanks.
Still, out, standing in my field.

The really coolstuff I couldn't record cause I was working LOL

I plan on putting up some pics of my adventures as a welder on the border fence soon

I was actually called twice to go to cali. But I would have lost the job , and the pay in one week was equal to two weeks on a fire! And right now its about the $$ ........we got out of a hole that got deep back in April.......
