    questions about the "other" forum

Will I get in big trouble here if I mention the Bravehearts forum? I have some questions about that place.

    Specifically:

    1. Are there a great deal of people that frequent both forums?
    2. Is there a great deal of duplication between them such that if I stay here I will get all the information I need and there will be no need to be in both?
    3. Why in the world is their forum software so very strange????

I found the Bravehearts threads difficult to navigate and I can only recall posting there once. Though I have to thank Bravehearts for their link to this superb Xmarksthescot site which I hadn't previously known about.

I wouldn't expect two, different forums to have the same content, anymore than I would expect two, different human beings to share the same opinions.

I've never posted on the other site, but I do look at it frequently to see what is there. Generally speaking, a lot of the same topics seem to come up. You will get a few different points of view there. The site is also moderated a lot less, so sometimes you can get some real "interesting" posts.

I have noticed a lot of similar names between that forum and Xmarks.

I posted over there, but that was before Xmarks came along. I tried to do both but time constaints prevented me from doing it. They both have the proper place in Kiltdom, but I am here, as it is a bit more active.

I like WDP and think his forum is/was a great resource for kilt info. I just hate the software over there and I dont really care about other mens garments. His forum, I feel, has the potential to turn into a free-for-all only b/c it is just him and he doesnt have the time to moderate the fights and the spam like we do here. I know there are a lot of folks over there who trash talk us saying we are "oversensitive" but that is fine with me. If they are more comfortable there then so be it.

He also has top forum Google placement right now ...

I'll always be grateful to Bravehearts, that's how I found this little rabble of kilts. But to be honest - I find their forums almost impossible to navigate. XMarks is a much more enjoyable experience.

Finally, I for one appreciate the dedication of our moderators and a few common sense rules that keep the conversation both civil and on-topic.

I am guess you had the top spot for a bit there Rocky Oh, the ever revolving world of kilts.

I like Bravehearts ok. It is a different board with a completely different tone and feel to it, but X Marks is home.
