    Relaxtion method

What do other fourm members do to relax?

I am trying to stay away from alcohol and cigarettes. I know about physical exercise and I have been doing my share. My life is very stressful right now, and I don't know how to relax properly.

I volunteer. I spent 5 years as a volunteer Fire Fighter, the last 8 as Coast Guard Auxiliary. Both I found calming, neither was my day to day job, no pay, no worries. Although water in itself is calming. I also go kayaking.

Crochet. I do a lot of that. Probably keeps me sane. Sane is good.

I write stuff that nobody ever sees. Will never see. Poems, Haiku, short stories.

Oh. My dog. My dog is all of the medication I really need. She keeps me leveled out.

I can't relax. It's impossible. They're gonna have to put me on chill pills or something to get me to relax.

You laugh, but it is not funny.

So much on my shoulders right now. I am seriously at the point of cracking. I am worried about what might do it.

I very nearly lost it today because of some idiot making a skirt comment. Everything held in almost came undone. I actually bit a chunk off of my own lip trying to hold back and keep the rage in so I didn't go off and kill the poor sod.

I can never keep my thoughts straight. My brain is too fuzzy to even meditate. I can't hold a solid thought. I think my IQ has dropped and my ability to contemplate and hold an intelligent conversation has diminished.

    (In no particular order)

Loud zydeco music while I'm driving my ULT.

Spreading rocks on what I laughingly call my driveway.

Getting out on the road on my Kaw.

    Yoga.

Reading ("real" books and forums like XMTS).

Thai massage (pricey, but it's saving my knees and lower back).

Watching the cardinals and hummingbirds at my feeders.

I'd really love to do that. Just a few hours with a really nice pen, one with good flowing ink that makes a pleasant sound when used, good paper, the kind that feels good between your fingers, a comfortable chair, and humming birds.

    Would be so very zen.
