    Son's surgery

My son, Seamus (13 weeks old), had surgery today for bilateral inguinal hernias today. He came through it like a trooper. Tough wee fellow. The morphine helps though. Sleeping peacefully next to me. He so needs a kilt as a reward! Such a sweet & happy boy! I'm so proud of him!

Wow - 13 weeks and already had his first operation. Hope the recovery goes well.

I agree, you should get him a kilt - let him grow into it.

He had his circumcision a few weeks ago. Two surgeries. Definitely needs a kilt.

I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

As a dad of 2 little boys, I can understand what you went through. Our oldest was diagnosed with a mass in his abdoment during the ultrasound, so we had to get ultrasounds every 2-3 weeks so it could be tracked, and have specialists there during the birth. He is not turning 9 (in 3 weeks) with nary a problem.

My thoughts are with you and your little man!

You feel so helpless in situations like this. They just can't understand what's going on and can't possibly comfort them. We had some complications with my son, he's healthy now. My daughter, thankfully nothing. And that circumcision thing I thought would ne fine until the doubts and guilt grip you in the waiting room.
