Spring is here, and other ramblings

Today is the first day of spring, our garden is covered with a bright display of daffodils, the weather is unsettled, warm and sunny one day, cold and wet the next.

Our local media has focussed on flooding in Tasmania, one man died, a sheep also. But heck, this seems like a small puddle compared with the US disaster, yet that news takes second place to local issues. Typical media!

This was my second winter in a kilt full time, our mild winters have been no problem. Two new kilts should be here for the summer, and so to celebrate the coming of spring I raise a glass of Ardbeg, think of Scotland, wear a kilt and thank God for the present safety we have here.

You still have those seasons mixed up, huh Graham

Anyway, Fall has always been my favourite season, so I am looking forward to it's coming. I will raise a dram to you and hope your spring brings new life and prosperity.

It's still humid enough here to have the air conditioner running. I can't wait until it cools off and I can leave the windows open, and start brewing beer again!

    Andrew,

    Today's temperature reached 98 F, with heat index near 110 F.

We won't cool off for another two or three months. Even then, temps will remain in the 70's and 80's until mid-November or later.

The first feel of fall has finally entered the air ,though the days have been a good ten degree's above normal. The monsoon rains came late and my dad lost part of his garden because he didn't have enough water foe everything.

Graham I raise a toast to you and yours, may you continue to be blessed
