Unhappy Tit for Tat on Ebay

I've found myself leaving no review at all, rather than a bad review on Ebay for mediocre or poor service. If you leave a bad review, the vendor usually just slams you for complaining. (this is after trying to settle things amicably before the review)

    What's been your experience?

Do you have any ideas to improve this?

Its my understanding that Ebay sellers can no longer leave feed back on buyers, so there's no reason not to give accurate reviews.

    Best regards,

I've sold an item to someone, sent an invoice, no reply. After multiple request, still nothing . And as a seller, I can't even leave a real feedback. only positive or neutral...

So I cannot warn other sellers about that ebayer...

Apparently negative feedback were not good for business...

When I buy something, I don't leave feedback until the seller does. If they are going to hold my feedback hostage, then I'll hold theirs. A good old-fashioned Mexican Stand-off, but like new age and stuff.

Haven't bought anything since hearing about them removing the sellers rating ability though.

Sellers can leave feedback at least here in the UK but they are no longer allowed to revenge negative feedback from the buyer with negative feedback.

I can't believe I'm the first to ask... who was the seller?
Why, a child of five could understand this. Quick -- someone fetch me a child of five!

I too am and ebay seller, and have been blessed with all positive feedback, both as seller and buyer, while it was allowed. I found when I was dissatisfied with a purchase I tried my best to resolve the situation, and if it failed I left no feedback at all. Negative begets negative I have found. I just never used that seller again.

I play at both sides of the ebay world. As a seller, just be honest, describe the item accurately and use plenty of pictures, and do what you say, when you say you are going to. I have had no negative feedback from this approach.

As a buyer, pay promptly, and if it is taking to long to suit you, ask questions and try to resolve things. If all else fails there is a way to apply pressure.

I have been very fortunate, only had one bad experience, and it was predictable (looking back with 20/20 hindsight).

I've been buying & selling on Ebay for almost 12 years now and have only received one negative. It was from a buyer who was a pain in the neck to begin with. He did not communicate at all after the auction and it took getting Ebay involved to get paid. Then after 2 days he left me the negative claiming I never sent the item. Apparently he figured that mail delivery from Canada to the US happens overnight. He did this after I'd already left a positive for him.
