Toronto visit in August
My wife will be going to Toronto on business 15-18 August and has invited me to go along.
I'm going to be on my own most of the time as she will be busy. Not sure where we'll be staying yet, but I suspect somewhere near the Convention Centre.
Looking for suggestions on what to see and/or do, to include any recommendations for kilt friendly pubs. I know I want to see Ft York, and I'll probably check out Kensington Market. Anything else I should see or do?

There are tons of things to do in Toronto, here are a few websites for you to check out

You may be interested in Casa Loma, the CN Tower, Black Creek Pioneer Village, the Zoo, etc. Of course no visit to Toronto would be complete without a kilt night with the SOKS.
Let us know closer to the day where you'll be staying and I'm sure we can figure something out.

Niagara Falls is but an hour and a half away. The only way to see the spendor of the American falls is from the Canadian side.
The Grant.

It's true - the view is much better from the Canadian side.
Like Glen said - give us enough notice, and you'll be surrounded by kilt-wearing Canadians (and there should be a stray 'merican in there too).
I am easily moved for sympathy for dogs, far more so than for humans, because dogs do not understand. There is no way to explain that you will return, that the vet will make it all better, that they cannot go shooting today because that is not what today is about. They cannot work out that their misery is finite and will some time end, and so their misery is magnified.

A good suggestion, but I've seen the Falls several times and from both sides (Canadian side is definitely the best).
This trip is limited to just Toronto and what I can get to without a car. We'll be flying in and spending a long weekend.

Thanks Glen and Wompet.
I'll get back in early August to make arrangements for a kilt night. I'm thinking of possibly going kilted the entire time I'm there.
FYI - we'll be staying at the Fairmont Royal York.

Something you might want to keep in mind is the Fergus Highland Games, happening from August 7th-9th.

As long as I can find a pub relatively near the Fairmont Royal York, I'll be happy enough until I can meet my wife after her client dinners.

Yes English is the chief language in every part of Canada except Quebec.
