A very nice Lowland Scotch Whisky

I just finished a very nice Lowland Scotch Whisky named Auchentoshan, which is distilled in the Dalmuir Glasgow region, a very smooth drink.

Straw with golden highlights. Light and fresh. Floral, green apples and a hint of lime. Soft blackcurrant and lime flavours, with a touch of aniseed and malty sweetness. Short, soft and fresh.

"The taste is decidedly sweet and so succulent that if you're alone you want to smack your lips".

You can get it in AZ at Costco in giant bottles, I think they are 1.25 liters. Also very inexpensive.

I'll give that one a try next time I'm at my local wine and spirits shop.

    Thumbs up Oh Yeah!

This was one of the single malts offered at our Scotch tasting kilt night at the Tipperary in Dallas last month. Of the malts we tried this one got the most praise all around and at about half the price of the next closest offering (a Glen Rothes 1992) it was easily the favorite.

Unfortunately, I haven't found a local source to purchase a bottle.

Think they'll have it at the tasting tent next month?

I'm more of a beer than scotch kind of gal (Gimmie my Guinness!), but I'm willing to learn.
