    Whisky Trail

I am starting to plan a trip to Scotland for the summer (probably August) of 2009. I am hoping to take a 'tour' of the Whisky Trail--that is start in the highlands and follow the distilleries down to the coast. If any X-Markers would be interested, we might be able to put a coach together just for ourselves. As I said, I am just in the very preliminary stages. Anyone with knowledge and advice is very welcome to comment!

Sounds like a Marathon pub crawl.

    A distillery crawl!

You'd be best to start at Ferintosh, Dumfries as Robertson is the man to speak to on this.

I have high (hehe) hopes of doing the same sort of trip next summer, if the funds are in place. Please keep us informed of your plans and progress, and of course, post pics of your trip!

    Holiday in Scotland 2009

You may wish to come a little early, to catch thne Gathering of the Clans in Edinburgh over the weekend of the 25th July. It promises to be a huge event with parade, pageant, highland games etc.

I'd be up for it if it coincides in time with the Gathering. Been wanting to do that trip for quite a while now. It would be more enjoyable to do it with like-minded folks.
