    The Xmarks "Screen Saver"!

So....how many posts have I read wherein someone delivers a zinger and the next poster let's us know that he read it while sipping some beverage and the results were that the contents of his/her mouth ended up sprayed all over the computer monitor (you know, every thime you do that, Danny Thomas' estate gets a royalty).

Well, worry no more...I have dredged up an item from my past that will save you from embarassing monitor stains!

When I was a kid, we had this TV show called "Winky Dink"...Winky was this little star headed sprite who always got into jams and you had to get him out of them. How? Your parents went down to Kresge's (a large chain of department stores in the US) and bought the "winky Dink Magic Screen" set which was a piece of clear, flexible plastic that you stuck onto your TV screen by virtue of the megawatts of static electricity that those old RCA sets were generating...you also got some crayons. So when Ol' Winky came to a river and couldn't get across, he would pause and ask you to help him by drawing a bridge across the river with your crayons on the plastic screen. Problem was that most kids had crayons but their parents didn't get around to purchasing the plastic thingie, so kids were always in trouble for drawing directly on the TV.

So I envision a plastic overlay for your monitors - perhaps with a little "Xmarks" bug in the corner...just like on your local PBS station - that would take the abuse and be dishwasher safe.

Making the world safe for humor since 1952!

I might look like I'm doing nothing, but at the cellular level I'm really quite busy.

There are monitor protectors, too, but we want something special.

Whoops, I forgot the need for something special that would be worthy of our kilted greatness.

How about we just find a mass producer of those Pizza Hut salad bar sneeze guards and hang those in front of our PCs?

Well, you could always use the background tartan or the XMarks logo as wallpaper or texture for a windows screensaver like pipes.

Some are just slow learners. NEVER take a drink while opening or reading messages. Read nothing until you swallow.
Everything in excess! To enjoy the flavor of life take big bites. Moderation is for monks.
