Albannach !!!
Just came back from watching them at the Highland Renaissance Festival in Eminence, KY.
They played 3 times, twice in an outdoor stage...and the third and final time inside the main eatery building...and the sound was OUT OF THIS WORLD!
At times the crowd was yelling and cheering so loud it drowned the sound of Albannach (if that's even possible).
A fantastic and rousing introduction by Scottish historian and author David Ross was the perfect touch.
Aya and Davy were as nice and easy going as I've ever seen a furious and sweaty scot full of beer. Jacquie gorgeous as ever. Donnie's (their piper) neck was about to explode several times!
What a good show...

I just picked up three of their CDs. Would love to see them live. Sounds like a great time.

I've also owned their CDs for a while, including their live ones, watched their videos, etc.
NOTHING, and I mean NOTHING, prepares you to the actual live sound.
It is such a rousing experience, specially when you have another hundred people around you enjoying the thing. Cheers, jeers, claps, yells, 'Alba Gu Brath'! and the like is something not to be missed if you ever have the chance to see them live.

Albannach will be at the New Hampshire Highland Games AGAIN this year. September 18, 19, 20 in Lincoln, New Hampshire on Loon Mountain. The live sound is like no other. When Albannach plays on the mountain, everything stops to listen in downtown Lincoln - 14 miles away.

I too will be seing them at the Kentucky Highland Ren Faire, but this coming weekend instead of last. My first time, but I can hardly wait.
