    holiday gig

Late yesterday morning I piped for a family's Christmas gathering. After sub-freezing cold early this week, the temperature was in the upper 40's and very much welcomed. The sun was bright and skies clear.

It was what locally we call a 'gated community' and the homes are constructed on minimally sized lots. Upper class accomodations.

It didn't take long until most of the neighborhood arrived at my benefactor's doorstep. They kept me about 25 min, handed me an envelope with a handsome tip, which was above & beyond my holiday rates.

And to make matters better, I was entrusted with a liter of 15 yr old Glenlivet.

    A piper's life for me.

    Slainte yall,
    steve

I've been in a variety of occupations during my time on this planet, but being a piper has been without question is the best of all. I am most fortunate and the harder I apply myself, the more fortune comes my way.

Don't know what the coming year'll bring, but looking forward to it with anticipation.

As a decided bonus, my liquor cabinet is well stocked with a variety of malts. And because of generous clients, I haven't bought a bottle in years.

    Slan,
    steve

Sounds like a great Christmas to me! Enjoy!

I think you should pen lyrics for just such a tune...
