New Dropkick Murphys album drops today

I'm listening to my copy of Going Out In Style and loving it. Raw, powerful, old school Dropkick. Soaked in whiskey, stomping, and bagpipes, this is one solid album.

Special shout-out: the track Take 'Em Down. An especially important and resonant song today....

i haven't got a copy yet but i love dropkick im gonna see them on the 19th.
Also they just announced today that on the 14th they have a limited edition chuck tailor all star shoe coming out.

I love it! I used to party with James Lynch in the back woods of Holland ma back in the day. We saw them in Providence RI and when he caught sight of my sister in law he recognized her and we got to go back stage and hang out with the band for a few rounds. Good times.

I have slightly different take on the album... I find it powerful, yet oddly "reflective" and "mature" for DKM. I am a huge fan and am no way knocking it... to the contrary, I actually really like this album. I just find it a little different than "Do or Die" and "Sing Loud", etc.

Someone mentioned a limited edition Chuck Taylor shoe... ALSO keep your eyes peeled for a limited edition "Etnies" brand shoe with a certain bagpiper's design. "a little birdy told me" about it.

I'm going to see them on the 8th in Philly. They ALWAYS put on a great show.

EDIT: After reading some of the reviews on Itunes, I agree that some of the songs sound "flogging molly-esque". I've been listening to the album while sitting here sewing. The REASON some of the songs sound a bit like FM is that there's much more mandolin on this album than in the past. Also, the 'drumsticks on the metal rim of the drum' sound (tick, tick-a-tick, tick-a-tick...) give it that FM feel. listen to "Sunday Hardcore matineee" and keep this thought in mind... doesn't it sound like a DKM soung with guest appearances from FM?

Again... not a BAD thing, just different.

They had a lot of guest appearances from nofx. And I just found out that James' dad is on the Irish rover. I agree Rocky. I feel like they are growing up a bit and refining their taste. I wouldn't say they are like FM rather they are refining their sound. I do get what your saying I just thing that DKM has a fire that FM doesn't. And that's not to say FM is anything less that great. I also like the story they tell throughout this album. It feels like a Pink Floyd album. I have to say I really think this is becoming my favorite DKM album to date
