    Starting Lessons! Whoo hoo!

    Well I finally did it!
    I found a pipe band that would take pity on me and give me lessons!
    I'm so loving this!
    I have a goal of playing Auld Lang Syne from my back deck at midnight on New Year's Eve.
    I'll let everyone know how that works out.

    That's very doable.

    Be patient. Don't sweat the tough stuff -- it will get easier if you keep trying over and over. And remember to celebrate even the smallest successes.
    Why, a child of five could understand this. Quick -- someone fetch me a child of five!

    Congratulations, way to go.
    I used to play a few penny whistle tunes on the pipes with no grace notes or timing, largely self taught apart from a few sessions from a local piper.
    When I once considered joining a pipe band they said I had the potential but would need to start from scratch, so I decided to lay off piping for a year and then start learning with them. So far I've never got back to it, and meantime I sold my pipes to the same band.
