    Tannahill Weavers

They're playing near here tonight and I'm thinking about strapping on a kilt and going. I've heard them on Thistle & Shamrock, but never listened to an entire album, or anything. Anybody got a review?

I've managed to pick up the "Leaving St. Kilda" album... it's good stuff. From what I can tell it definitely has a more folkish/traditional sound, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Current favorite song on the album - the Athol Gathering.

I have yet to get my hands on any of their other albums, and consider myself fortunate enough to have found that one without too much hassle.

GO. I've seen them twice live, and they convinced me to buy two of their albums before leaving the venue at the first show, even at the inflated "show" prices.

They've got a definite "folk" sound to them. If you use iTunes, Apple's iTunes Store has a good selection of their stuff, and you can listen to the "preview" selections online.

"The Great Ships" is one of my favorites, being the story of the "Clyde-built" shipyards.

they'll be near me (Bowling Green) October 10th, I think. Let me know how you like them if you decide to go.

Go. They do one of the best concerts I've ever been to - I've seen them four times in four different states. Go.

For tour schedules, take a look at their website.

Well, I'm sorry to say I DID miss them. My wife was not feeling well, so we did not go.

    Yeah, I'm bummed.

I think I may cry on your behalf.

We just played along with them on Saturday night. Not only are they GREAT guys, but the music is that celtic folk music that we all know and love. It's easy to listen to, and their consistancy is awesome! I can't recommend them enough!

Since they shared the ampitheatre with Barleyjuice, Albannach and The Wicked Tinkers... their sound was quite pleasant to those with bleeding ears!
