    What tune....

...gets you going? I am talking about the one that always stirs your soul old or new.

Highland Cathedral and the Minstrel Boy always bring joy to my heart. However I always see me running through the hills with my trusty dogs at my side, as the fog is lifting when I hear Brian Boru's March.

Under Pressure: David Bowie and Freddie Mercury. I always play it loud before I write an exam (and I have five of those in the next three weeks.)

Dead on Time: Queen. When I was in military college in the distant past that was our wake-up song. We had the duration of that song to get up, shave, make our beds, dress and stand for inspection.

I have found that about any pipe and drum marching tune stirs my blood.

I'd have to say most anything on the pipes and drums, but especially Scotland the Brave. Other than that, the RAF/RCAF March Past and the theme from The Magnificent Seven. Those stir my blood!

Anything with pipes, of course, but my favorite song right now is Dido, believe it or not. "Not So Bad". Great song, and wonderful use of harmonic variations. Good stuff. It's very mellow, though, and so I still can't figure why it stirs me.
