    To All Mid-Appalachian Kilters

Though we may have mountains that separate us, would anyone be interested in contriving an ’06 Mid-Appalachian Gathering?

    Ulster Scots Rock!

I'd be more than glad to help coordinate ..........

Where you you anticipate such a gathering taking place?

I'm interested, but my travel schedule for '06 might prevent my joining you.

    mountain gathering...

Depending on the location, some us "kilted hillbillies" here in the Ozarks might be able to make it across the river!

    Cheers,

    Howdy David,

How about that. I was beginning to think I was the only man with a kilt in Central Ky! I work up in Lex .....

I was checking just the other day for Celtic flavored venues in Lexington and surrounding areas. Not much happening. I understand Lynaugh's has gone South. I thought, though, that Shamrocks was still over by Patchen Village. I couldn't find anything on line about it anymore.

I had asked if anyone knew of a kilt night in Lex to an acquaintance on a musician forum here in Lex and got a "so you're a kilt chaser" remark, so I just kinda let it drop.

Anyway, I think it's great to fire up a kilt night in Lex.

Depending on dates, I will come down to Lex for a kilt night.

I'll weigh in again Tuesday. There are a lot of Irish fellows around and I understand they all try to meet monthly. I've been once and there were a couple of kilts.
No notes with me here, but I'll let you know when I get home.
Or we can start our own!
Adam, sorry we couldn't hook up in Covington.

There is a group that meets the first Monday of the month at McCarthy's in downtown Lexington. Primarily Irish, but they do a nice outing every may. I have not been to one of the regular meetings. No scheduled meeting in September.
We could drop in while they are there or we could do our own thing. I am told Mcarthy's serves a lot of better ale & stout.
    Just let me know.
    David
