Any interest in an Albany, NY area kilt night?

New forum member and fellow (NYS) capital district resident josephkirkpatrick and I are thinking about starting up a kilt night in the Albany, NY area. I'm pretty sure there are several forum members within driving distance of Albany. I'd like to gauge interest so I know whether or not it's worth running with this idea. So, how about it? Is there anyone out there who would be interested in a capital district kilt night. Speak up, please. I'd hate to think Joe and I are the only kilties in the area.

Totally in Jay- but you already knew that. I've got at least one more, a friend named Jim. I'm gonna put up a craigslist ad tonight.

Hmm...I thought there were more kilties near by. I'm going to try to drum up some interest at the local higland wear store and celtic hall.

i've been a kiltie for about a year now, and I just recently found this forum, so.... maybe there needs to be more advertisement? I found it by accident while searching for the proper way to wear my dirk...

Maybe the festivals (Hunter, CDSC, Celebration of Celts, etc) should have like a tent or booth or some such promoting the website. I know that probably costs a pretty penny, and I'm not really sure how much revenue comes from adverts, but I think it could pull many more members. I know that I'm going to be talking it up at the next festival.

If you guys get something going, I'd try to get up to some of your gatherings (having relatives in the Albany area, too).
Don't pick the 2nd Saturday slot; you can still come down to the occasional Binghamton kilt night ...!

It would be great to have you come to an Albany kilt night, Brian. And I enjoy the Twin Tiers Kilt Night's far too much to schedule anything conflicting. I plan to get to the gatherings at McGirks as often as I'm able.

I may be able to take the drive up at some point. Granted its a 4 hour drive, but it could be fun...
