Jim, for pipers you might check with the Atholl Highlanders in Stone Mountain.
I've been to a few Burns Suppers, but it's been several years since my last. They can be lots of fun, but the people make the event. With this group, I'm sure there won't a problem having a good time.

    Making things definite

OK, I just left the Tavern, and we are set for the 27th, not the 20th of January. There were a couple of things that would have conflicted, so I opted for the 27th when we can own the pub.

It's good to be the king!

Anyway, please mark your calendars now. We will be requiring an advance reservation so Holly, the owner, can plan the meal with the most reasonable cost. (Hey, I am Scottish, you know. We don't waste money on things like food. Kilts and accoutrements maybe, but not food!)

If you have any ideas that you want us to consider, bring 'em on. I'll keep you posted on final details as they are developed.

I will soon post the first draft of the agenda for the evening, and I'll be looking for folks to do toasts, read/recite poems, etc.

We'll also be looking for appropriate entertainment after the dinner.

    That's enough for now.

    Slainte!

Hmm, this might work for me, we have another Burn's Supper on the 20th. I'll talk to my wife and see if she thinks we can tough out 2 Burn's Suppers within a week. You know you have to drink a lot of toasts and consume a lot of scotch at the things.

PS: If she knows I'm going to a Burn's Supper she won't let me go alone, she loves them too.

    Hmmm. Two Burns suppers?

    Sounds about right to me.

And--this should help sell the deal--you'll have a whole week to recuperate. After an entire week, you'll probably be in need of another fix.

Twa Burns Suppers? That's nothing! I'm going to FIVE Burns Suppers this year, and giving the Immortal Memory at three of them!

    Cheers,

    Todd

I wish I could go with you those five Burn's Suppers too, they are just so much fun. If you haven't been to a Burn's Supper you've missed out on one life's greatest experiences.

Come along then; two of them are in Arkansas, Ft. Smith and Eureka Springs, to be exact, so that wouldn't be as far (relatively speaking) of a drive for you!
