Charlotte, NC AIDS Walk 5/2/09
This isn't a kilt night, but it can easily turn into one after the walk.
On May 2, there will be the annual AIDS Walk in Charlotte.
"We walk in memory of those who have finished their journey, as advocates for those infected, and as a beacon of light for the future when our steps will have helped stop the spread of AIDS.
AIDS WALK Charlotte, a two mile walk through Charlotte's Historic Fourth Ward, is a visual representation of our community's commitment to and compassion for those impacted by HIV and AIDS."
There is not a time set for the event, but I would like for most (if not all) of the Charlotte Kilties to attend the event and walk for a good cause, plus we can be kilted en mass and show potential kilties that there is a large community in the Charlotte area.
Here is the link to the 2008 event. www.aidswalkcharlotte.org
The new website should be operational by mid-Feb.
I will update the post as more information is available.

I shut my eyes and turn’d them on my heart.
As a man calls for wine before he fights,
I ask’d one draught of earlier, happier sights,
Ere fitly I could hope to play my part.

Thanks for the heads-up. Just checked my schedule and we'll be in Kernersville for a festival that weekend, so I won't be able to make it. Good luck. I hope you get a good kiltie turnout.

Thanks FM.
I'm hoping for a large turnout. I think we have some lurkers that are just waiting for the right time to come out in public kilted. A large gathering is the perfect time for the timid to come out and enjoy the virtues of being kilted.

I was there, though un-kilted. Anybody else make it?
Maybe next year we could get together earlier and organize a "kilted contingent" team and raise money using that as a "hook".
