| | | Edinburgh Kilt Walk 1st April, 2007
The next Rock Trust Edinburgh Kilt Walk is due to take place on Sunday 1st April, 2007. http://www.kiltwalk.org/
It was good fun last year, besides being good exercise. I see I'm in one of the pics in their photo gallery of the 2006 event - I'm the guy in the black kilt and grey hoodie holding the Lion Rampart aloft in Princes Street Gardens in photo number 10.
To take part you need to raise £50 for an Edinburgh Homeless Persons Charity but even if you can't get your friends to sponsor you the event and the goodie bag are worth the cost. Scocha will be playing live in the west theatre at Princes Street Gardens. Last year's goodie bag included among other items a Scotland DVD; a large saltire flag; a lightning bolt kilt pin from 21st Century Kilts and a blue and white woolly hat from the Edinburgh Hogmanay Club. I was disappointed not to meet any other X-markers at the 2006 event - will any of you be going along this year?

Beuth, I am thinking...
I could probably fit in a very LARGE duffel bag if you wanted to somehow split airfare. Just make sure the porters carry said bag.

Should be a good event. I see from their site that Saor Patrol are also going to be playing at the 2007 event as well as Scocha.

This is the sort of thing I would love to take part in. Ah, but the ocean between us...

I was expecting to take part (like Robin: a long weekend in Edinburgh), but this coincides with Tartan Day/Week in New York - and I have been invited to take part in the charity "Dressed to Kilt" fashion show in the Big Apple that weekend. OK guys, given the chance which would you choose?!!! It is not yet certain that I will actually get to NYC for the event as there are a number of hurdles to be leaped before I get that airline ticket, but let's say, "We're working on it!"
