Shameless BUMP!

I'm in final planning for airfare etc. For those of you in North America who are on the cusp of a decision the pundits suggest buying any flights you want to take in the next six months NOW.

Let's go folks!

alricht folk....

they that want tae come tae the second Burns Supper... Jan 23-25...

we have an opportunity tae gae tae a huge (250-300 people) Burns Supper with the Burns Howff Club an' many other Burns Clubs i' this area...

The Howff Club has asked Ferintosh if we want tae buy a table fur the event...

their's will bae oan Sunday Jan 25... we could gae after the Caerlaverock day out....

I'm sure this will bae a SERIOUS Burns Supper- very long an' very dry with no very guid fuid (hard tae feed 300 folk well)- exactly the opposite o' the Ferintosh Burns Supper...

but... this will bae a muckle huge Burns Supper wi' lots of Burns Experts held on the exact date o' Burns 250th Birthday... i' Burns Hame Toon... I'm sure it will bae a 'not to be missed' event...

I'm no sure the cost- but I'm sure it will bae less than oor Supper... (mass produced- simple food)

we would only want tae buy a table if we could fill it... (10-12 seats)...

sae what say you?

Hi Robertson,

Sorry for the delay - I have only just been released from 'Cardiff Captivity' and did not see your post until now.

I am up for it, but I will need to check with Jim to see what he thinks. He is coming to Storrington next weekend - I'll speak with him then and let you know.

Take care,
Ham.

That weekend seems to be a good one for me and to attend a supper in the Globe with the Howff should be an interesting experience!

I would absolutely love to make it for the March Burns night, however with the recent demise of Zoom finding an affordable flight is a daunting task to say the least.

Update?

Time to bump this up again.

So Robertson, how are things shaping up for 2009 Burns' Suppers?
Who is coming what weekend?

Is it still looking like there will be a table for the big supper on the 25th? I hope so. Any idea what the cost may be, for budgeting purposes?

I've started making my plans. Booked a flight on Ryanair to Edinburgh and return.

Received my new Prince Charlie Jacket and waistcoat today (from Scottishkilts.net, less than 10 days delivery time)

Looking forward to a great weekend!

Regards,

Tom
