Heading out to Celebrate!

Happy "Burnsday"!

Thought I'd share a pic before I head out for a beer and some great Celtic Music!

Slainte, Aye

It is one of my thrift store finds that I converted into a kilt jacket. I still have to hand sew the pockets, but having a good wool (brown) vest to match the jacket is perfect for a cold night out!

Aye, thanks for asking.

Glad you got out and about on the Bard's birthday, Jonathan. Nice kilt, BTW. It goes with the doorknob

Weel, I never made it to the music, but we had a grand time at Cabana, with two for one pints and pizzas! Kronenburg (German beer) was my choice of the night...and the best compliment came from a friend, who wouldn't be caught dead in a kilt, say: "Dude, you look punk rock!" That's Nashville slang for "I'm jealous"

Thanks for the pic! Looks like you had a grand time! I'm interested in this sporran you made! How did you make it? What fur is it made of, and did you use a pattern? Maybe it's better for the DIY forum...? Thanks!

This was really just a post showing off my outfit as a whole, before going out to celebrate, however, I appreciate your inquiry!

The sporran actually was ordered in cowhide w/ cantle...(I really bought it cause of the cantle.) After designing a completely hand-made Badger sporran for my Dad, I used the left over fur to RE-COVER my cowhide and placing the cantle over top of the badger. Also, I reversed the tassels so that the grey suede was revealed instead of the shiny black leather....and added a custom pocket inside. The fur was purchased on Ebay as a full hide w/ claws.

cheers!
