    NYC Meet(s) for Taran Week?

I haven't been able to help organize anything for a while, due to sometimes overwhelming personal needs. I am wondering if it might be possible to get together sometime for Tartan Week.

Though it's past the actual date, I am thinking that's no reason not to have a Burns Dinner at some point in observance of the 250th anniversary.

    Any interest in either?

the demands of fatherhood dictate that i am rarely able to commit to events too far in to the future.

i would encourage others in the nyc area to try to pull together a late winter gathering, though. enjoy.

I just got my wife to agree to go into the city to do the parade. That's a plus and I'm taking it from there. Anybody into that? I'd like to grab a drink or three in celebration, but I can't see doing the post parade party.

OK Baysideboy sugjest meeting up at Playwrights Tavern or Deacons Brodie, for brunch before the or a pub crawl after. I could not make brunch, its to hard to get out of the house and into the city that early but a pub crawl sounds good to me.

Playwright's on 49th is where we met last year for brunch. Seems Deacon Brodie's doesn't open until 5; I'm checking to see if they'll open early on the 4th. If they don't, there's O'Lunneys on 45th bet. 6th and 7th, which would be convenient place to start working our way down to Stouts for the after-parade party.

Who's in for brunch? Who's in for just the crawl?

And this shall be for music, when no one else is near; The fine song for singing, the rare song to hear; That only I remember, that only you admire; Of the broad road that stretches and the roadside fire. (RL Stevenson)
