Who: NYC XMarks Rabble
What: Drinks and Dinner 
When: This Saturday: April 26th
5 PM (Drinks) and dinner whenever we're ready

I obviously won't be able to make it. I'm in Arizona, and I wont' be in NY this weekend.
However, I was just curious about the picture. What was the occasion? Tartan Day?

It was indeed the Tartan Day Parade here! What you see being carried was Glasgow's official Christmas tree carved into the shape of a caber.
At nearly 300 pounds, though, it wasn't intended for actual use in competitions, I think.

Actually, it's a photo of the Tartan Army charging down the street. The caber, whcih followed later, can be seen on the NYC Tartan Day thread.

I was thinking of the entire thread. The caber, though, was being carried by the T.A. and came immediately after these enthusiastic guys!

that's awesome. Looks like a good time to be had by all. I'll have to make it up there here soon. If I do so, I'll make sure to let you guys know ahead of time so we can meet up and have some pints.
