| | | SOKS Alert! Scottish Pub Grand Opening...
Halloo!
I was talking to Scott, the owner of a soon-to-be-open Scottish Pub here in Dunnville. He is planning on a soft opening this weekend, and the grand opening on February 10th. He is very interested in having us come out on the latter date in force. No details or plans have been made at this point. I would like to know how many people we could expect if this were made official. Please let me know so that I may firm things up with the owner. The Sleekit Badger looks pretty nice inside (still working on it yesterday when I stopped in). The tartan carpet, Guiness and Harp on tap, a selection of assorted bottled beer, and I saw a gaggle of waitresses training as well. What more could you ask for?
Dunnville is 40 minutes south of Hamilton, 55 minutes from the Peace Bridge or Rainbow Bridge. Accommodations can be arranged (pull out couch, floor etc...) and transportation back hooked up to Black Sheep Acres (my place). We could even carpool from there if need be.

They have to have t-shirts there. What say a ittle contest? Kiltie with the most phone numbers at the end of the night wins a t-shirt. Me, I'm going to be grabbing the phone book to stack my deck.

This is looking good! I will be talking to the owner today to firm up the details.

Shades of Oakville! I just got off the phone with the owner of the pub, and in the confusion the other day, he forgot to mention that the evening of the opening (Feb 10th) they have a ticketed event. There is a live band playing (didn't catch the name... apparently they play in the Niagara area, and cover everything from Tom Jones to U2). The tickets are $10.00 each and going fast. The general concept is non-ticket holders will have to clear out by 8:00 or 8:30. We have a few choices:
1.0 Reschedule for another date.
2.0 Get together earlier in the day (maybe late afternoon?) then hit another local establishment.
3.0 I don't have a third option in mind, but three looks like more official than two.
Any ideas? What is the consensus?

Any ideas? What is the consensus? | How about option 2.5? We could meet earlier and possibly stay for the band (if tickets are stil available). I like Tom Jones and U2, we will already be n klts so we'll just haveto change into cilts for the Tom Jones set. We do have to support (y)our local drinking establishments. As a contingency plan do you have another bar in Dunnville or do Tim Hortons outnumber them?

Any ideas? What is the consensus? | I vote 2.0 with 1.0 as a backup plan.
Cheers
